    Day 1 Arrive in Auckland
On arrival in Auckland, you will be taken to your hotel by private transfer. The rest of the day is free to enjoy the city. Why not take a walk around the Auckland Viaduct Harbour and Wynard Quarter bustling with restaurants and bars, a great place to sit back and enjoy the beauty of this city, based around 2 large harbours. In the centre of the city is the iconic Sky Tower which has views of the city, harbours and out to the Hauraki Gulf. Auckland Domain, the city’s oldest park, is based around an extinct volcano and home to the formal Wintergardens. Near Downtown, Mission Bay Beach has a seaside promenade where you can take a walk or you could take a short ferry trip across the harbour to visit historic Devonport.

Day 2 Auckland — Air Safari via West Coast to Bay of Islands B,D
This morning we have breakfast at our hotel before boarding our transfer to Ardmore Airport, where we meet our pilot/guide for the coming days. We depart Ardmore in either a 4-seater Cessna 172 or a De Haviland Beaver aircraft, depending on the number of passengers aboard. Enjoy some beautiful views, flying over the Auckland Harbour Bridge as we head north following the dramatic West Coast of North-land to Kerikeri. On arrival at Kerikeri Airport we are transferred by land to Paihia where we overnight. The rest of the afternoon is free in Paihia for you to explore this town which is known as a gateway to the dive sites and sandy beaches of the Bay of Islands. Paihia is home to the Waitangi Treaty Grounds, a carved meeting house, a museum and a giant Maori canoe mark the site of the founding of modern New Zealand. A stroll along the shore is a very pleasant and scenic one. Dinner is at the hotel this evening.

    Day 3 Cape Reinga B
After breakfast this morning, we are transferred to Kerikeri Airport and board our aircraft for a spectacular overfly of 90-Mile Beach which is the fabled strip of sand that stretches from Ahipara to Scott Point, five kilometres south of Cape Maria van Diemen. Truth be told, it is actually 88 kilometres long. This beach is officially a highway, but is really only suitable for 4WD vehicles and is safe to drive only at specific times of the tides. From the air it is quite spectacular and the immense length of it very apparent. From here we continue onto the magnificent Cape Reinga which is the northwesternmost tip of the Aupouri Peninsula, near the tip of the North Island. Cape Reinga is generally considered the separation marker between the Tasman Sea to the west and the Pacific Ocean to the east. From the air you can see the tidal race, as the two seas clash to create unsettled waters just off the coast. The Māori refer to this as the meeting of Te Moana-a-Rehua, ‘the sea of Rehua’ with Te Tai-o-Whitirea, ‘the sea of Whitirea’, Rehua and Whitirea being a male and a female respectively. From here we return to Kerikeri airport and transfer back to Paihia – the rest of the day at leisure for you to enjoy one of the many activities on offer – a fishing trip, take the short ferry trip to visit historic Russell, or a cruise into the Bay of Island to Cape Brett ‘Hole in the Rock’. This evening is free for you to dine at any of the great estab-lishments in Paihia or get fish and chips and enjoy on the beach. Hotel: Scenic Hotel Bay of Islands

Day 4 Bay of Islands — Waiheke Island — Auckland B,L
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast at the hotel this morning before we transfer to Kerikeri Airport and board our plane for a scenic flight over the East Coast of Northland, heading south-east to Waiheke Island where we land. Waiheke Island is the most populated and the second-largest island in the Hauraki Gulf and is a haven of beautiful vineyards, olive groves and beaches. Here we will visit a local vineyard where we will have a wine tasting experience and lunch. There will be time to soak up and enjoy the landscape, life-style and relaxed vibe of Waiheke before leaving for Auckland’s Ardmore Airport. From here transfers to Auckland Airport or hotel can be arranged.
