    Days 1-2: Arrive Auckland
    Welcome to New Zealand. Join your guide and explore this incredible city and its surrounds. Meet the crew on an America’s Cup yacht, take the helm or simply sit back and enjoy sailing around the harbour. (B day 2)

    Day 3: Rotorua
    Journey to picturesque farmland in Matamata for a day of Middle Earth magic at the Hobbiton movie set. Join your own guide on a tour of the set from The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit film trilogies. Seek out Bag End and the Green Dragon Inn. Marvel at fake wells and beehives alongside real gardens and then head to Rotorua, the country’s geothermal hot spot and cradle of Maori culture. (B, L)

    Days 4-5: Rotorua
    Learn about the traditional Maori culture preserved at the New Zealand Maori Arts and Crafts Institute in the Whakarewarewa geothermal valley. Witness geothermal wonders and gain a fascinating insight into New Zealand’s iconic endangered kiwi at the Abercrombie & Kent Philanthropy supported National Kiwi Hatchery Aotearoa. See the incubation room, hatchery and nursery where this extraordinary project is increasing the kiwi count. On Day 5, embark on a scenic helicopter ride over peaks and gaping craters to land on the site of the largest volcanic eruption in New Zealand’s recent history. Stand atop the now dormant Mount Tarawera and be awestruck by the mighty craters and domes formed by the 1886 eruption. Continue your flight to the marine volcano of White Island where you can walk the active crater floor with its steaming lake.  (B, L)

    Day 6: Depart Rotorua
    This morning, you may like to take a dip in one of Rotorua’s hot pools known for their healing properties. Leave the captivating power of Rotorua behind and transfer to the airport for your departing flight. (B)
