    The Camino de Santiago, or Compostela Trail, has for centuries represented an important pilgrimage route from France, across the Pyrenees and the north of Spain to the tomb of St James in Santiago de Compostela. Following the most interesting sections from Roncesvalles in Spain through famous pilgrimage cities such as Leon and Pamplona, the landscapes change daily from mountain trails to forests and open plains. With the camaraderie of a small group and local guide, the trip is fully supported throughout. Also includes daily breakfast & dinner. Shorter and longer trips are also available

    DAY 1    Arrive Bilbao, visit Guggenheim Museum

    DAY 2    Transfer to Roncesvalles, walk in the surrounds of the town (3hrs)

    DAY 3    Visit Pamplona, walk to Puente la Reina (3-4hrs)

    DAY 4    Walk to Estella (3-4hrs)

    DAY 5     Visit the wine fountain ‘Fuente del Vino’ en route to Villamayor de Monjardin, drive to Burgos (2-3hrs)

    DAY 6    To Rabe de las Calzadas (3hrs)

    DAY 7    Continue across the Meseta to Frómista (4-5hrs)

    DAY 8    Visit Leon and walk from Hospital de Orbigo to Astorga (4-5hrs)

    DAY 9    Walk and visit Templar castle at Ponferrada, overnight Villafranca (4-5hrs)

    DAY 10  Walk to O’Cebreiro (2-3hrs)

    DAY 11  Continue to Portomarin (4hrs)

    DAY 12  Walk to Arzua (4hrs)

    DAY 13  Early arrival in Santiago with rest of day to explore the cathedral and historic centre (3hrs)

    DAY 14  Trip concludes
