Cruise through the scenic canals of Amsterdam and sail through the dramatic Rhine Gorge past the legendary rock of the Lorelei.

    • Day 1 – Start your Magnificent Amsterdam to Budapest River Cruise today in Amsterdam.This afternoon be welcomed aboard your Avalon River Cruise vessel and meet your crew.
    • Day 2 – Enjoy a Canal Boat of Amsterdam before setting sail for Cologne.
    • Day 3 – Cruise through Cologne and see the Germano-Roman Museum plus the magnificent Gothic cathedral.
    • Day 4 – Sit up on deck today as we cruise the spectacular Rhine Gorge. Later we visit Siegfried’s Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum in Rudesheim. Enjoy a special treat then explore the Drosselgasse.
    • Day 5 – Cruise through the village of Miltenberg. Enjoy the guided sightseeing and take in the beauty of the medieval and renaissance houses and the gothic Merchant Hall.
    • Day 6 – Cruise past the sloped hills of Wurzburg, all covered with vineyards. Plus visit the magnificent Bishop’s Residenz a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
    • Day 7 – Your walking tour takes you through another World Heritage site, medieval Bamberg. See the breathtaking cathedral, Old Town Hall, charming houses and 18th century mansions.
    • Day 8 – Marvel at the historic city of Nuremberg with its Gothic churches and elegant patrician houses. Nuremberg’s traditions include its famous toy making and metal working.
    • Day 9 – Explore Regensburg, one of Germany’s best preserved cities. Highlights include the Old Town Hall and Porta Pretoria – gates to an ancient Roman fort. Plus try Germany’s famous beers!
    • Day  10 – See the graceful arcades and cobblestone streets of Passau. Take an optional full-day excursion to Salzburg to see the popular Sound of Music sights.
    • Day 11 – Today you get to visit Melk’s magnificent Benedictine Abby which dominates the town with its commanding hill site and monasteries. Plus we visit Durnstein.
    • Day 12 – Today we explore Vienna, the “City of Music”. Highlights include the Vienna Opera House, Ringstrasse and St. Stephen’s Cathedral. Afternoon option to visit the Schonnbrunn Palace. An optional Viennese concert is available tonight.
    • Day 13 – Bratislava, the dynamic capital of Slovakia has many must see sights including the Town Hall, Mirbach Palace and the gothic St. Martin’s Cathedral.
    • Day 14 – Budapest, spanning the banks of the Danube, has many sights to see on your tour of the city, including bridges, churches and a hilltop castle.  Also popular is the Market Hall – great for the food hall and upstairs you can stock up on some souvenirs.
    • Day 15 – End your cruise holiday with a farewell breakfast.
