Linda’s ‘Mega Lekker’ escape to South Africa

The first e-postcards have arrived from Linda who is currently spending two weeks exploring South Africa!

Straight off our flight into Cape Town we headed to Franschhoek in the Western Cape Winelands to stay at the stunning Franschhoek Country House & Villas.

We took a wander through the quaint village which is filled with Art Gallery’s, cafes, restaurants, churches and boutique shops and surrounded by mountains, farms and endless rows of grapevines.

Our timing was perfect for a visit to the Village Market which is held amongst the old oak trees every Saturday and Sunday. A great place for us to enjoy a fresh juice, listen to live music and wander through the market stalls.

Of course, a visit to Franschhoek would definitely not be complete with out a wine tasting tour to enjoy the local wine and breathtaking views!!

Next stop was Capetown, including a ride to the top of Table Mountain on the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway. Check out the incredible views from the top.

Then it was Victoria & Alfred Waterfront with Table Mountain as it’s backdrop. Linda snapped this photo on her way to dinner at one of the many waterfront restaurants. The iconic mixed-use area surrounds a working harbour and is filled with restaurants, bars, hotels, residential apartments, tourist attractions and over 450 shops. V&A Waterfront is a great location to base yourself while visiting the city.
